When he travels to the other reality again, he sees his family embracing the American culture, and he finds his son married to an alternate Juliana. While all this is happening, Tagomi is able to come back to his own timeline, and is thoroughly investigating the films. John Smith begins to fight against this, and he has Joe and his father arrested, with him taking over leadership. Heusmann and the others blame Hitler’s death on the Japanese, and try to manipulate the situation to allow for a war that they can win. He forgives his father, Martin Heusmann, and becomes second-in-command after Hitler names him Acting Chancellor. At the same time, Joe discovers that he was a part of the Lebensborn program that had the goal of breeding “Aryan” children, and he is the only child of a high-ranking officer. John Smith takes charge of her and brings her to New York without telling Joe. In Season 2, Juliana is running from the Japanese and claims asylum with the Nazis.
While meditating one day, he finds himself transported to another reality: ours. Elsewhere, Tagomi, a very moral man, is having trouble stopping the coming war. They then confront him, but when the resistance wants Juliana to kill Joe, she won’t, and she lets him escape. One of the officers is Joe, and they see him kill Frank. In it, they see a reality where Nazi officers are killing the survivors of a bomb. The Japanese and the Reich are at odds, and Tagomi expects whoever takes control to try to bomb and conquer them.Īt the end of season 1, Juliana and Frank find each other again and watch the film reel. He starts secretly meeting with a member of the Nazi party to discuss who will take over after Hitler (who has Parkinson’s Disease) dies. Nobusuke Tagomi is the Trade Minister of the Japanese Empire, a high-ranking member of their government. She finds the Resistance, but they won’t let her deliver the film reel herself, so Juliana takes it and goes off to find “The Man in the High Castle” with Joe. Joe pretends that he wants to join the Resistance and follows Juliana on her quest. While in the neutral zone, Juliana meets Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank), a double agent working for the Nazis under John Smith (Rufus Sewell). So Juliana decides to take up her mission.
Her sister was planning on going to the neutral zone, in between the Japanese and Nazi territories, to deliver it to the Resistance. The films show alternate realities, and someone called “The Man in the High Castle” is collecting them. Juliana’s sister, Trudy, is killed after she gives her a strange film reel. In the first season, Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) and Frank Frink (Rupert Evans) are living in San Francisco where the Japanese have control of the West.
His daughter, Isa Dick Hackett, is one of the show’s producers. The book was published in 1962 and won the Hugo Award for Best Novel the next year. It’s about what the US would’ve been like in the 1960s if the Axis powers had won World War II. The show has always been about revolution and change, but this year, Juliana Crain’s at the front, leading the charge.
